WASHINGTON, DC – Today Enroll America President Anne Filipic released the following statement on the announcement from the Department of Health and Human Services that $67 million in funding will be available for navigators in federally-facilitated marketplace and partnership states:
“The navigator funding announced today is a huge win for American consumers, who we know are much more likely to enroll in coverage if they have access to free, expert assistance. As our more than 1,000 assister partners shape their plans and applications, we at Enroll America will be working closely with them to provide training, resources, and access to critical tools like the Get Covered Connector. The $67 million in funding available is an increase from last year, and will help to maintain the strong assistance network that was critical to the success of the last enrollment period, which saw more than 11.6 million Americans enroll through the Marketplace and millions more through Medicaid. In addition, the three-year time frame for applications will give certainty and stability as we work to institutionalize enrollment best practices in the local organizations that will be doing this work in communities for years to come. Over the last two years, we’ve proven that we know how to reach the uninsured and give them the help they need to enroll – today’s announcement is another step along the path towards making these gains permanent.”
