WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Anne Filipic, president of Enroll America, issued the following statement after the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services announced the availability of $60 million in funding for the Navigator program:

“We know from our outreach that consumers who got help from someone in their neighborhood were more than twice as likely to successfully enroll in coverage, so we applaud today’s announcement from the Department of Health and Human Services about the new opportunities for state and local organizations to provide enrollment assistance in communities across the country. Many families have gone for years without access to affordable health insurance, and now that financial assistance and quality plans are available, they have a lot of questions; the Navigator program provides exactly the personalized assistance they need to make the decision that is best for them. Our hundreds of staff and thousands of volunteers will continue working closely with navigators and other in-person assisters to make sure consumers can get answers to their questions and find coverage that fits their needs and budget.”
