Washington, DC – Today, Anne Filipic, President of Enroll America, issued the following statement in response to the Department of Health and Human Service’s announcement that 1,157 health centers across the country will receive $58 million in grant funding to expand in-person assistance services:
“The additional funding announced today will allow health centers across the country to serve even more consumers with free, professional, in-person help enrolling in a health plan through the Health Insurance Marketplace. Consumers who have found the process of enrolling in a health plan confusing should know they are not alone: they can talk to an expert for free in their community who will help them choose a plan that’s right for them and their families. The staff and volunteers of the Get Covered America campaign will be there to connect consumers with in-person assistors in their area, in addition to our Get Covered Locator tool, which is available at www.getcoveredamerica.org/locator or by texting ‘LOCATOR’ to 877877.”
