The Get Covered America campaign is hitting the road again this year as the February 15 deadline to enroll in health coverage approaches. Starting today, the “Countdown to Get Covered” Bus will travel over 1,600 miles across the South to promote local enrollment resources so Americans can find help getting covered in 2015.
Get Covered America President Anne Filipic will lead the bus tour, which will wend its way through North Carolina, Georgia, and Florida before ending February 8 in Miami — just one week before the February 15 deadline to enroll. The tour will make stops at enrollment events, phonebanks, churches, hospitals, and college campuses to promote the work of Get Covered staff, volunteers, and partners.
Each stop will feature the brightly painted bus counting down the number of days left to enroll in health coverage. It will serve as an exciting reminder for those in the community to take action and make their plan to enroll — either with the help of free, local assistance or on their own.
Anne Filipic and Get Covered America staff are touring alongside elected officials, faith leaders, community partners, consumers, organizers, and volunteers as the “Countdown to Get Covered” bus stops in over a dozen key cities (click here to view the full itinerary):

Numbers released last week by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services show that over 2 million across North Carolina, Georgia, and Florida have already selected plans in the marketplace. Still, many across the country remain unaware that free in-person assistance and financial help are available, that those who fail to obtain health insurance may be subject to a fine, and that the enrollment deadline is only days away.
We hope you will join us and spread the word in the final days to friend and family.
