If there was ever any doubt that young adults would be interested in signing up for quality, affordable health insurance, we can officially put it to rest now. The uninsured rate is falling faster for 18-to-25-year-olds than for any other age group, and the enrollment community can build on this momentum by getting the word out to young Americans who need the facts about their new health insurance options.
To drive sign-ups before the end of open enrollment on February 15, our Get Covered America campaign is teaming up with Young Invincibles to host the second annual National Youth Enrollment Day on January 29. Our new toolkit explains how you can get involved.
National Youth Enrollment Day (NYED for short) is a national movement where young people, communities, and organizations come together in a unified effort to ensure young adults know about their new health care options and enroll in health coverage. Last year’s NYED featured more than 100 events with over 70 partners across the country. Events ranged from community-led tabling events on college campuses to mayoral press conferences with local celebrities.
This year we’re doing it again, but we can’t do it alone — we want your help to maximize the number of young adults that gain coverage!
