Congratulations to this year’s federal Navigator grant awardees!
A total of $60 million in grant awards went to 90 organizations to serve as Navigators in states with federally facilitated and partnership marketplaces. Sixty-one of the awards went to organizations that served as Navigators during the initial open enrollment period.
All of us here at Enroll America and our Get Covered America campaign are excited to partner with and learn from these Navigators to inform and engage consumers and maximize the number of Americans who get covered and stay covered during the second open enrollment period (OE2). With less than 70 days left until the health insurance marketplaces open back up for business, enrollment stakeholders’ sleeves are already rolled up.

Working on your outreach work plans? Looking to take outreach work to the next level? Our outreach toolkits feature tips and strategies for getting the word out about the new health insurance options.
You can use these digital tools to help get facts to consumers about their new health insurance options:
- Survey research has found that the most important message consumers need to hear before they look into their new health insurance options is that financial help is now available. The Get Covered Calculator estimates how much financial help a consumer could qualify for. Click here to find out how to embed the tool on your organization’s website.
- When consumers could get in-person application help, they were twice as likely to get covered successfully. The Get Covered Locator finds the closest sources of in-person application assistance for a consumer. Click here to find out how to embed the tool on your organization’s website.
- With some consumers having many new health insurance options, enrollment stakeholders learned in OE1 that potential enrollees were looking for help to pick the plan that would best fit their needs and budget. The Get Covered America Plan Picker offers an at-a-glance view of which “metal level” could be the best fit for a consumer.
- Coming soon: The Get Covered Connector will be a scheduling tool for consumers to make appointments with assisters, and for assisters to manage their schedules and track appointment information. Click here for more information and to sign up as a Connector partner.
In October, we’ll provide several opportunities to learn about best practices from OE1 — and how they can be applied to OE2 — through our #Ready4OE2 webinar and blog series. The series will touch on outreach strategies for key constituencies, including women, communities of color, people of faith, and young Americans. Watch this space for more information.
Again — congratulations to the winners!
