Earlier today, Enroll America announced plans to launch a major Affordable Care Act enrollment campaign. The effort will deploy various tools that have been developed by successful political and issue campaigns, such as online organizing, grassroots outreach, data analytics, and paid advertising, to communicate with the millions of uninsured Americans who can gain access to comprehensive, affordable health coverage for the first time.
As part of this expanded effort, I’ve joined the team as President of Enroll America. I couldn’t be more thrilled to be joining Executive Director Rachel Klein and the rest of the Enroll America staff, as well as all the partner organizations who are part of this important effort.
I come to Enroll America from the White House, where I served as Deputy Director of the Office of Public Engagement, and I fundamentally think of myself as an organizer. My background is based in grassroots organizing, including various positions in the 2008 Obama for America campaign, such as Field Director during the Iowa caucuses and Colorado General Election Director.
But what’s far more important than who I am is why I’m here and what we will do together. First and foremost, I’m here because I, just like you, care deeply about connecting the millions of uninsured people who can gain health coverage to information and tools that will help them get the care they need. And as part of that broader calling, I am excited by the opportunity to apply many of the cutting-edge engagement strategies used by successful political and issue campaigns to this critically important issue.
There will be many exciting developments in the months to come. But what will not change is the critical role that the Enroll America team will continue to play—and the role that all of you play as essential partners in this effort. Indeed, it takes a village.

I am thrilled to join the Enroll America team, and I look forward to working with all of you on this important effort in the coming months.]]>
